Having suffered a nervous breakdown while working in the corporate world, Jeff rediscovered his passion for running and walking. The simple act of being outside and taking exercise was both a release, and uplifting. It became clear to him that there is often too much focus on how much you should walk or run, as well as when and how you should do it. If you simply recognise the fact any exercise is good, it takes away the pressure and you can just enjoy the experience. This is why in 2021, along with his brother Steve, they created Every Run Counts Ltd – to provide an alternative means of reward and motivation.
We are now a small team of fun-loving people who want to reach out to those of you who are physically active or aspire to become fitter in order to improve your physical and mental well-being.
We have each experienced the power of exercise to improve the way we feel, and this is why we are committed to harnessing the power of physical exercise to enhance the daily lives of everyone that wants to be a part of our mission: to uplift, inspire, and bring together communities through the power of exercise.
Medals are available to purchase, however the platform is FREE for everyone to use, and this is critically important to us and our mission to be completely accessible - we want to be as inclusive as possible with no barriers to helping people improve their wellbeing.
Members of Every Run Counts have created the largest peer-to-peer event listing in the UK, a testament to the community that has been built. Thousands of Running and Walking events are listed for you to discover new routes, explore new places and stay active with others.
In our 1st year we made donations totalling over £70000. With £50000 donated to our 4 partner charities and over £20000 to our members own charity fundraising pages. We have now created 80 Day Global to raise even more money for charity and continue making donations to fundraisers’ pages.
We hope you will join us on our journey and encourage more people to participate in regular exercise for the benefit of their physical and mental health. In particular, we want to help the 90% of people who quit regular exercise within 3 months (often to restart time and time again) because of the pressure they put themselves under. We want them to find a better way to stay motivated with the freedom of doing what makes them feel good. At the end of the day, any walking and running however, fast or slow, short or long – it’s all good!
Wouldn’t it be amazing if we achieved our mission?
Wouldn’t you love to be one of the people who makes that happen?
